Today, we wish to talk to you about Pascaline Kampayano. Please feel free to add additional information that you might know about this candidate: Here we exercise free speech to objectively inform. Remember:"Utora nabi ugatwarwa nabi"!
Pascaline Kampayano was born in 1954 in Ngozi, a northern province of the Republic of Burundi. She was among the parliaments elected for Frobebu in 1993. As the revolt of the people of Burundi took shape under the leadership of Hon. Nyangoma Leonard, Kampayano joined the rebel group where she actively played a role of special mission: what ever that means. In 2005, she will be elected representative of the people of Ngozi to the parliament and was also elected to lead the ladies' organization of CNDD-FDD members. She left the parliament and the current ruling party after the imprisonment of Mr Hussein Radjab along with 21 other members of parliament. Today she plays an imprtant role in UPD zigamiganga that she will represent as a presidential candidate come June 2010. She was elected to be the 2010 presidential candidate for UPD zibamibanga.
Opinion:
We think that UPD still disply stubbornness that lead us to the current mess in a first place. This is seen by UPD's passiveness when it comes to coming together with other parties to sign joint communique: this is serious because it mimics the current image of the NKurunziza's government when it comes dealing with serious issues.
Idealizing Radjabu in my humble opinion is a step back: please understand that we condemn any illegal imprisonment of any Burundian, however, when we evaluate the CNDD-FDD of 2005 to 2007 the time when Radjabu assumed the leadership of the party, we don't see any difference in term of transparency, the respect of Burundian people.
While it becomes imperative for the opposition to win it alone, any coallition of the opposistion should make sure the candidate is able to lead, to inspire and to decentralize power and put it back in the hands of Burundian people. We wish Kampayano best of luck
