While religion plays an important role in the private lives of Burundian citizens, Burundi remains a secular society. Burundi should be governed based on the rule of law. If Burundi were governed based on christian or religious values, who is then the corrupt guys? Where were those pious men/women when he ruling group ordered the slaying of innocent men in Ruyigi? Just to mention few question marks! God must have a sense of humor, because he is the only one that can be cool with the drama in people's lives. As for the rest of us, we are well aware that "the religious habit does not make the monk"!
